Silk Option

This wedding required flowers to last for several days on a strict budget. The wedding and reception were on two separate days and silk flowers were the best option for this couple. The bridesmaids carried single red Peonies. The corsages were made of gladiolas and aqua filler and the brides bouquet was made from 15 red roses. Destination Wedding!

I had the privilege of traveling to Michigan to do a destination wedding. I had so much fun creating flowers for this one of a kind bride. For the Bridal Bouquet I used white calla lilies, orchids, lilies, and berries. The Bridesmaids carried clutches of hydrangea, calla lilies and berries. I also draped and flowered the alter on the beach and lined the aisle with hydrangeas and berries in metal pails. The cake was a group effort, meaning the women of the wedding party created this masterpiece and I finished it off with hydrangeas, calla lilies, and berries. It tasted awesome and the coolest part was it was a confetti cake how cute is that? Unfortunately I do not have the pictures of the reception flowers or corsages and boutonnieres, but if I find some I'll post them.

Allerton Wedding

This Weekend I had the pleasure of working with friends to create their flowers for their Allerton Wedding. I don't have ceremony pictures yet, but here is a sneak peek of the bride's bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet and table centerpiece. Enjoy!

Winter Weddings!

It's been a few months since I've updated the blog! I have done two weddings recently, so I'll share some pictures of the flowers with you.

The first wedding was a small event on the day after Christmas. The color scheme was ivory and peach, so I chose beautiful roses in those colors, and accented the corsages with waxflower and Italian ruscus. Enjoy!

The next wedding was for our friends Holly and Aaron! Since they are big Illinois fans, the color scheme was of course orange! I found some vibrant orange gerbera daisies that worked out beautifully both for Holly's bouquet and for smaller clutches for her bridesmaids. I chose white tulips as an accent, and was so excited that they stayed closed right up until the ceremony! Here is a teaser picture of the bouquets, courtesy of Rob Watson of Still Life Photography!

Zach & Elise

Zach and Elise asked me to design their flowers for a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony this past summer. The bride carried a clutch bouquet of asiatic lilies, alstromeria, tulips, and yellow button mums.
The bridesmaids carried Spanish fans accented with daisies and alstromeria.

The aisle was lined with Ball jars hanging on shepherd hooks, filled with carnations, daisies, white aster, and alstromeria.

Paul & Melissa

Congratulations to Paul and Melissa! They were married on November 1. Their colors were purple, yellow, and white. Here are some pictures from the arrangements I designed for them!

The groom was given a boutonniere of purple spray roses flanked by purple limonium and Italian ruscus. For the groomsmen, white spray roses with Italian ruscus were used without filler.

The bride's bouquet featured a center grouping of lavender roses surrounded by white standard roses and accented with purple spray roses.

For the bridesmaids, a presentation bouquet was prepared featuring Gerbera daisies surrounded by yellow lilies and purple liatris. Monte Cassino aster was used as a filler. The bride chose to use this nonconventional bouquet which complimented the bridesmaid dresses beautifully!

Here are some recent photos from weddings this summer!

The color scheme for this wedding was blue. I selected yellow and white for complimentary colors in the floral design. The bride carried a clutch of white roses, white lillies, and blue cornflower. The bridesmaids carried clutches of yellow lillies, yellow and white alstromeria, and blue cornflower. Boutonierres were prepared from yellow alstromeria and blue cornflower. Corsages were prepared from yellow spray roses with blue cornflower. I also designed two altar arrangements of white gladiolas, yellow lillies, and blue cornflower.
